| How can we be saved? |
When we obey the verses of Romans 10:9 and 10
Rom 10:4-15
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that
believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the
man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not
in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ
again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in
thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be
ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the
same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and
how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without
a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How
beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of
good things!
Eph 2:14-16
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the
middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of
commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so
making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross,
having slain the enmity thereby:
Because Christ abolished the law of the old testament for all who
believe, there is now no spiritual separation between the Jews or Gentiles. It by
believing on Christ that we are saved: not by confessing our sins to the local
pastor or others; nor by good deeds; nor by promises made from others; nor by reciting
simple prayers of salvation, as is much presented among the Christian world as the way to
salvation.
It is by believing that it was God who raised Jesus from the dead. Not by Jesus raising
himself, because that would be impossible. For he was dead not alive, which would have
made it impossible for him to awaken himself without outside intervention [no man can raise himself from the dead - (not
even Jesus Christ)]. This
outside help came from God his true and only father who brought him back to life. This
faith therefore is not claiming Jesus as God whom he is not, but rather as the son of the
only true God supreme who raised his only begotten Son from the darkness which is death
and the grave, unto a life which is eternal and everlasting, to sit by his fathers side. A
place which is also reserved unto them which believe upon his son and who he truly is and
who his father is.
